Farm Park and Children's Play Northamptonshire

Our Story

We are a family run farm park with children's play and a cosy café

Flore Farm Park is part of Meadow Farm, a small family run livestock farm in Northamptonshire. We have been farming here for four generations producing beef and lamb which is sold at local livestock markets. Our cows and sheep live outside grazing on our meadows over the summer months and are housed inside for the winter, fed on grass which is grown on the farm. All their supplementary feed is produced in Bugbrooke, 5 miles away.

In the past Meadow Farm was a dairy unit milking 80 cows, but in the mid 1980s it was decided that this size unit was no longer financially viable. The dairy cows were sold and replaced with a herd of beef cattle and sheep.

The cows currently on the farm are a range of native breeds, including South Devon and Herefords which have calves all year round, they average one calf per year. We have a flock of 100 Suffolk x Mule sheep which lamb every year in February. The majority of these would have twins. However any 'mums' who have triplets have one lamb removed and it is then hand reared at Flore Farm Park. Visitors can bottle feed these lambs from March to May until they are weaned. We also have a small herd of Pygmy goats. They have been on the farm for 10 years and have an average of two kids every year. They are friendly but also very greedy and will happily eat anything within their reach!

We have opened Flore Farm Park to allow children to gain experience of farming life first hand and help them to learn about where their food comes from and how it is produced. We hope you enjoy visiting our animals, spending time on the farm and enjoying a drink and a piece of cake in our café which overlooks the Nene valley river meadows.

Hope to see you soon!
